🌸 Wealthy Wednesday: The Wealth of Surrender 🌸
🌸 Wealthy Wednesday: The Wealth of Surrender 🌸
When we stop striving, stillness creates space for us to receive.
Beautiful Soul,
I just completed eight days in silent meditation here in the Netherlands.
Eight days of unplugging.
Eight days of sitting.
Eight days of being still.
Eight days of listening—not to the noise of the outside world, but to what was waiting for me underneath it all.
And I am emerging with such profound gratitude.
Last week, as I entered this retreat, I wrote about The Wealth of Pausing. I knew I needed the space to step away, slow down, and simply be.
What I was reminded of during these eight days is that pausing is only the doorway.
On the other side is surrender.

Stillness Isn't Always Comfortable
We often imagine meditation as peaceful: a quiet room, a calm mind, a relaxed body, perhaps even a beautiful spiritual experience.
But when you become still long enough, everything that has been moving beneath the surface has an opportunity to make itself known.
There were moments during this retreat that were physically uncomfortable.
There were moments that were emotionally hard.
There were moments when sitting with myself meant sitting with sensations, memories, feelings, and experiences I might normally distract myself from.
And yet, I kept returning to the practice.
Sit.
Breathe.
Notice.
Allow.
Surrender.
Instead of asking, How do I make this discomfort go away?
I began asking:
Can I allow this moment to be exactly as it is?
The Blessing of the Now
So much of our suffering can come from resisting what is already here.
We want the uncomfortable feeling to disappear.
We want clarity before it has arrived.
We want the answer now.
We want healing to move faster.
We want life to look different before we give ourselves permission to be at peace.
But this retreat reminded me that there is an extraordinary richness available when we stop fighting the present moment.
When I surrendered to what was arising, something began to settle within me.
Not because I forced it.
Not because I figured everything out.
But because I made room for it.
I allowed the blessing of the now to permeate my being.
I allowed the Divine to sit beside me in my process rather than believing I had to navigate it alone.
And in that spaciousness, I could receive.
Receiving What Came Before Me
One of the most meaningful parts of these eight days was feeling a deeper connection to my ancestors.
I became aware again that my life did not begin with me.
There are generations of stories, sacrifices, resilience, wisdom, prayers, dreams, wounds, and blessings flowing behind me.
And when I became quiet enough, I could feel myself receiving.
Not only acknowledging what may need to be healed or released, but also opening to the blessings of those who came before me.
Their strength.
Their courage.
Their love.
Their wisdom.
Their perseverance.
Their gifts.
Sometimes wealth isn't something we have to create from nothing.
Sometimes wealth is recognizing what has already been passed into our hands—and consciously choosing what we will carry forward.
Embodiment Is a Form of Wealth
I came into this retreat wanting stillness.
I leave feeling more embodied.
More present in myself.
More connected to my body.
More aware of the Divine moving through my life.
More willing to trust what is unfolding without needing to control every part of the process.
And perhaps that is one of the greatest forms of wealth:
To be fully here for your own life.
We spend so much time building wealth externally—creating income, businesses, investments, opportunities, and legacies.
Those things matter.
But what good is abundance if we aren't present enough to experience it?
What good is success if our bodies never feel safe enough to receive it?
What good is creating a beautiful life if we're constantly rushing toward the next moment?
True wealth also asks us to cultivate the capacity to be with what is.
To receive.
To trust.
To surrender.
To inhabit our bodies.
To let ourselves experience the life that is already happening.
Your Wealthy Wednesday Invitation
Beautiful Soul, you don't need an eight-day silent retreat to practice surrender.
Today, give yourself just a few quiet minutes.
Put down your phone.
Close your eyes.
Feel your feet on the earth.
Notice your breath.
Notice your body.
And rather than trying to change anything, ask yourself:
What am I resisting right now?
What might happen if I stopped trying to fix it for just this moment?
What blessing is available to me right here, right now?
And perhaps:
What wisdom, strength, or blessing from those who came before me is ready to be received?
Then listen.
You don't have to force an answer.
Allow things to settle.
Allow yourself to receive.
Allow the Divine to meet you exactly where you are.
Because sometimes the next level of wealth doesn't come from doing more.
Sometimes it arrives when we become still enough to realize:
The blessing was already here.
With love and abundance,
