🌸 Wealthy Wednesday: The Wealth of the Pause 🌸
🌸 Wealthy Wednesday: The Wealth of the Pause 🌸
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for our wealth is to stop.
Beautiful Soul,
After days of roaming through the Netherlands—exploring beautiful cities, reconnecting with people I love, enjoying wonderful food, and taking in centuries of history—I have arrived at a very different kind of destination.
For the next eight days, this beautiful place will be my home away from home.
And I will be spending those days in silent meditation.
No rushing from one destination to another. No constant conversations. No endless stream of notifications, decisions, plans, or things to accomplish.
Just silence.
Stillness.
Breath.
Presence.
And the opportunity to listen.
As I walked into this beautiful space, I was reminded that pausing is not the opposite of progress. Sometimes, the pause is what makes deeper progress possible.

We live in a culture that celebrates movement
We are often taught that success comes from doing more.
Work harder.
Move faster.
Create more.
Earn more.
Achieve the next goal.
And when we are building wealth, it can be especially easy to believe that every moment must somehow be productive.
But there is another kind of wealth that cannot always be cultivated through effort.
It emerges through space.
Space to notice what we are feeling.
Space to hear our intuition.
Space to recognize the patterns we have been unconsciously repeating.
Space to remember what actually matters to us.
When our lives are constantly filled with noise, we may become very good at responding to everything around us while losing touch with the wisdom within us.
The pause creates perspective
This is one of the reasons I believe pausing is an important part of our wealth journey.
When we pause, we create enough distance to ask:
Is the life I am creating actually the life I desire?
Are my financial choices aligned with my values—or driven by fear, urgency, comparison, or old conditioning?
What am I pursuing because I truly desire it, and what am I pursuing because I think I should?
What have I already created that I haven't taken the time to appreciate?
These are not questions that always reveal themselves while we are rushing.
Sometimes clarity arrives only when things become quiet.
Your nervous system needs pauses, too
There is also something deeply compassionate about allowing ourselves to stop.
Many of us have learned to live in a constant state of doing, fixing, planning, anticipating, and taking care of everyone and everything.
Even abundance can become another thing we chase.
But wealth isn't only about how much we can create.
It is also about our capacity to receive and experience what we have created.
Can you receive rest without guilt?
Can you enjoy what you have without immediately reaching for the next thing?
Can you allow yourself to simply be without needing to prove your worth through productivity?
This is where pausing becomes a wealth practice.
Because the ability to stop reminds us:
My worth does not disappear when I am not producing.
Eight days of listening
So, after roaming through the Netherlands, I am entering eight days of silence.
I don't know what insights will emerge.
And perhaps that is part of the practice.
I don't need to arrive with an agenda.
I can simply listen.
Listen to my body.
Listen to my heart.
Listen to my intuition.
Listen to the quiet wisdom that can sometimes be difficult to hear beneath the noise of everyday life.
There is something beautiful about remembering that we don't always have to make something happen.
Sometimes we can create space and allow something to emerge.
Your Wealthy Wednesday Practice
You don't need an eight-day silent meditation retreat to experience the power of a pause.
This week, I invite you to create your own small sanctuary of stillness.
Perhaps it is ten minutes before you begin your day. A quiet walk without your phone. Sitting with your coffee without checking messages. A few minutes of breathing before making an important financial decision. Or even an afternoon where you intentionally choose not to accomplish anything.
And in that space, ask yourself one simple question:
What becomes possible when I stop long enough to listen?
You may discover that the answer you've been searching for doesn't require more effort.
It may simply require more space.
Because wealth is not only found in what we accumulate, accomplish, or create.
Sometimes wealth is found in the quiet moments when we realize:
I am here.
I have enough in this moment.
I can breathe.
I can receive.
I can listen.
For the next eight days, that is the wealth I am choosing to practice.
The wealth of silence.
The wealth of presence.
And the wealth of the pause.
With love and abundance,
